On Drama and Survival in Reality Shows
Speaking about her experience, Mona told Telly Talk India, "Reality shows matlab constant drama, constant controversy, aisa nahi hota ki ap agar uss character kr liye gaye hain toh kuch na kuch drama karte rehna hai, toh aap jetenge, you may not win, you may become popular as a villain or hero, winner tabhi jab usme ek do gud ache hone chahiye vo tab hi winner hota hai and even back then it was the same, a show I did was a combination of Bigg Boss and Khatron Ke Khiladi, because we had to live in that forest so I had enjoyed that. But Bigg Boss mujhe bahut mushkil lagta hain, but I would like to go for it. Kuch kuch personalities itni interesting hote hai for example in Bigg Boss, I really liked Shehnaaz season, so original, she is a genuine character, uske kitne memes bane, itne reels bane kyuki vo bandi hi aisi hain."(Translation: "Reality shows mean constant drama and controversy. It’s not like you only win if you keep creating drama. You may not win but can still become popular as a hero or villain. A winner, however, must have a few good qualities. I once did a show that was a mix of Bigg Boss and Khatron Ke Khiladi, where we had to live in a forest — I really enjoyed it. But Bigg Boss feels very tough to me, though I would still like to try it. Some personalities are just so interesting. For example, I loved Shehnaaz’s season — she was so original and genuine. That’s why she became viral with so many memes and reels — because that’s just who she is.")Popularity Boost from Reality Shows
Further adding, Mona explained, "You get a boost, popularity boost for example if you are at bigg Boss house for 60 days and you come out, obviously you will ask for more money, it depends on u, ap vapas aane ke baad kitna zinda rakh paate ho apni chhavi ko, kitna active rehte ho, kitne samay ke liye audience ke dil mein jagah bana pate ho, it may be short lived but it will give you a boost and it has revived in many careers."(Translation: "Reality shows give you a popularity boost. For instance, if you stay in the Bigg Boss house for 60 days and then come out, you can demand higher pay. But it depends on how well you maintain your image afterward, how active you remain, and how long you can stay in the audience’s hearts. The fame may be short-lived, but it still boosts your career — and has revived many.")Do you find this article useful?
