Though many characters ae expected to get resurrected or return, Eddie won't!Rejecting rumours, Matt Duffer confirmed the fate of Eddie in a recent interview with Empire. "I love that Joe Quinn is toying with people! But no, he’s dead. Joe is so busy anyway, that everyone should know he’s not coming back. He’s shot like five movies since! When the hell has he got time to come and shoot Stranger Things? No, sadly, RIP. He’s fully under that ground," Matt said.
Eddie Munson in Stranger Things
Eddie Munson was shown to be a full-on nonconformist metalhead and high school outsider who debuted in Stranger Things Season 4. He enjoyed playing Dungeons & Dragons with his friends and had considerable knowledge on the game. He was the head of Hellfire Club, and that's how he came in touch with the main group of Stranger Things. After witnessing Vecna take over Chrissy Cunningham, he joins the kids to avenge her death in the Upside Down. During the mission, he gets killed by creatures after he sacrifices himself to distract the Demobats, allowing the rest of the group to fight Vecna.

Fans are not happy
Learning about Eddie's fate and that he won't be returning, netizens expressed disappointment. One user wrote on X (formerly Twitter), "Eddie deserved better! I guess being 'fully under that ground' means he won't be helping the guys with their D&D campaign in Season 5. No more shredding for Hawkins, I see. Tragic." Another one said, "Bro… this ain’t just death, this is full-on Stranger Things extermination."One fan expressed, "He was amazing in stranger things as Eddie but he’s dead now so the only chance we’ll see him is if Dustin talks about him probably. Or his dad if we see him which I doubt. Either way he was such a good guy but I hope at least they can clear his name. But I doubt that will happen." One hopeful fan shared, "Yeah he’s under the ground but in the upside down everything is opposite so technically they’re alluding to the fact he could be still alive in the upside down."ALSO READ: Stranger Things Season 5 At Par With Battle Of The Bastards?
