a successful collaboration on Sanju, it was recently reported that Rajkumar Hirani and Ranbir Kapoor would reunite for a film. It was being said that Ranbir and Rajkumar were likely to work on the biopic of an athlete. The latest development on their project is that the film has reportedly been pushed to 2027. According to a media report, the director plans to begin Dadasaheb Phalke's biopic first with Aamir Khan.

Talking about Rajkumar's project with Ranbir, a trade source told Mid-Day, "Hirani and Ranbir were very excited about this one; they had been jamming on it through the year. Hirani decided to park it. Ranbir’s calendar is packed, so it made sense to regroup later. Everyone wants it to be like Sanju, so they’re okay to wait."In the meantime, the filmmaker has apparently decided to shift his focus to Dadasaheb Phalke's biopic with Aamir Khan. The shoot is expected to begin in January 2026 while Aamir has been preparing for it since a few months. "Post that, depending on which script is ready, he will take a call between Dhoom 4 and Animal Park, as they are both in advanced development," the source mentioned.On the work front, Ranbir was last seen in Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Animal.
