A Russian influencer living in India for 4 long years- Kristina aka Koko in India- ultimately decided to leave the country after– allegedly getting questionable treatment at the Delhi FRRO- Foreigners Regional Registration Office. Taking to social media, the woman shared an embarrassing incident that happened with her at the FRRO, as per which, she was allegedly ‘harassed’ and demeaned by the “FRRO’s workers”. As per the woman, she was at the office for her visa extension process, where the staff allegedly “checked her phone” and began to ask questions about her “personal life”. The influencer further stated that she received such treatment from a woman employee, who even allegedly asked about her “staying in different hotels”. Koko then went
on to recall the rather problematic remarks she faced, along with an interaction that left her “humiliated”.The Russian influencer’s three-part Instagram post was shared on September 26, which went viral and left many fuming. Most commented how the staff had ‘no right to check phones’, while some advised her to file an FIR. Koko, on the other hand, was heard in the clip– asking the FRRO staff to bring proof of her “staying in hotels with different men”. She then stated that if FRRO succeeded in coming up with such proof, she would apologize publicly and leave India. However, after a few days of the incident, the woman took to the internet and stated that she was leaving India. Taking to her Instagram story, Koko narrated the entire matter, along with sharing an emotional goodbye. As per the story, she received her ‘exit permit’ and has been asked to leave by October 12. She further blamed the ‘indirect humiliation’ that she faced during the ‘visa extension process’- behind her decision to exit India. “I got exit permit I'm sad mere dost But it's my decision because I didn't want to continue visa extension process with that woman who indirectly humiliated me. I will miss this lovely country. I have a lot to say But now I can just cry I will record a video later when I feel better with fresh mind,” the influencer’s Instagram story read. “Maybe she was right. A lot of people comment on things like P*rn star and such. But I am not what they were calling me. I was not going to hotels with any man. It hurt me, and that is why I took the exit permit, which I got very fast. I have to leave India by October 12. It was a very amazing 4 years of my life. I got to know the meaning of real friendship in India. I also got to know about love, as I met people who loved me and I loved them. I wanted to visit ‘Chhath Puja’ in Bihar. I hope once in life that I will come back. I don’t like living in Russia, I love my country, but I love living here more,” the influencer was heard saying. The matter is floating on social media, with many sympathising with the influencer. Meanwhile, some seemingly celebrated her decision, as she shared a screenshot of some questionable and derogatory texts that she received on her social media.
