A grieving man has taken to Reddit to share the devastating loss of his wife and unborn child, using his story to highlight the importance of mental health awareness. His post, titled “Lost my wife and the baby a wake call for mental health,” has quickly gone viral on social media. He wrote, “That day I lost everything. My wife and our baby. Both gone. One moment we were rushing to the hospital, hoping to welcome our child, and the next moment doctors told me they couldn’t save either.”According to him, his wife had been suffering from various health issues for several days, including swelling in her legs, persistent headaches, and abdominal pain.“The doctor had advised her to attend check-ups, take rest, and eat properly. But she never took
it seriously. Many times I told her also, but she just said, ‘This is normal, all women go through this.’ She kept hiding her problems,” he revealed. He also shared insights into her upbringing, explaining, “From childhood, her parents never gave her space or listened. They always told her to keep quiet and never complain. She grew up thinking asking for help was weakness. Even with me, she never shared fully.”Despite enduring pain throughout her pregnancy, her condition ultimately worsened, leading to complications from pre-eclampsia during delivery. “If caught early, it could have been managed. But it was too late, and I lost both,” he said.He ended his post with a heartfelt message for others, urging, “Anyone who is struggling, please don’t keep pain inside. Talk to someone, take care of your mental health, go to a doctor if needed. It can save your life and the life of your loved ones.”
