Spice Girl Victoria Beckham has now revealed she suffered from an eating disorder throughout her life. Beckham also reveals she became so good at lying about it that she could hide it from even her closest family. In her Netflix documentary, Victoria Beckham confessed she did not like what she saw when she looked in the mirror. Subsequently she began to control her weight in an 'incredibly unhealthy way'.As per a report in DailyMail, the 51-year-old fashion designer spoke about the horrors of being body shamed when she was at theatre school as a teenager.
Speaking about the three-part series, Victoria said she began to “really doubt” herself and “stop liking” who she was. “I let all the outside noise affect me so deeply that I lost any sense of reality. I couldn’t tell if I was fat or thin; I just became incredibly self-critical and unhappy with my reflection,” David Beckham’s wife shared.“I’ve been called everything from ‘Porky Posh’ to ‘Skinny Posh.’ It’s been a lot to navigate, and that takes a toll. I had no control over what was written about me or the photos that were published, so I tried to take control in other ways — through my clothes, through my weight. But I was doing that in a very unhealthy way,” she added.“When you’re struggling with an eating disorder, you become very good at hiding it,” Beckham said revealing she was never honest with her parents about what was really going on. “I never spoke about it publicly. It changes you. Being told again and again that you’re not good enough — that feeling stays with you for life,” the former Spice Girl shared. Victoria Beckham, who shot to fame in the mid-’90s as part of the Spice Girls, also recalled a painful experience from early in her career - being weighed live on television by Chris Evans on his Channel 4 show TFI Friday. The moment took place in 1999, just months after she had given birth to her first child, Brooklyn. However, Bckham shared she struggled with body confidence much earlier, as a teenager studying at the Laine Theatre Arts School in Epsom, Surrey - a dream her parents made possible by remortgaging their home in Goffs Oak, Hertfordshire. Despite her dedication, Beckham candidly shared she wasn’t the strongest dancer or singer.
