Erika Kirk went on the stage with President Donald Trump at the memorial for Charlie Kirk for the funeral service. She was comforted by the 79-year-old who hugged and consoled her. President Donald Trump said
a few words about Charlie Kirk and handed it over to Erika who then joined him for the Memorial. It was then that Erika pointed towards the large photo of Charlie Kirk and made a hand gesture. She extended her index finger, pinky finger and thumb while keeping the middle and ring fingers down. This left everyone on social media confused because the usual depiction of that sign is a ‘YO’ hand gesture. So, many couldn’t understand what it meant.
A social media user on X (formerly Twitter) asked Grok (the AI bot) to explain this gesture and it said that “Some people are interpreting this gesture as “47” in support and solidarity with Trump’s presidency (as in 47th). Others have depicted this as “rock on” symbol or the “horns” sign and sometimes this can be linked to various cultural meanings.” Another person on X (formerly Twitter) tweeted ““Sorry but why did Erika make the devil horn hand gesture at the end with Trump? I watched the entire memorial and thought it was very heartfelt and speeches were moving but why that from her? It wasn’t a rock concert. I’m truly perplexed.”
