Philippines’ 6.9 Magnitude Earthquake Disrupts Beauty Pageant! Spine-Chilling Video Shows Horrifying Chaos

The Philippines was left shaken- not only literally after a 6.9 magnitude earthquake hit the country on September 30, but also emotionally as it ended up taking the lives of at least 72 people. As per

ABC News, more than 200 people were left injured, whereas rescuers are working on finding victims who might still be trapped under damaged buildings and other infrastructure. Post the tragedy, several horrifying videos began to surface on social media, which went viral. Among all the clips, one that particularly went viral for capturing the very fear the sudden jolts caused- was from a beauty pageant. The clip-in question showed an ongoing Gala Night of the Miss Asia-Pacific International 2025 pageant. The event looked joyful with beauty queens flaunting their beauty and skills. However, everything soon turned scary after the stage began to shake. The video showed the beauty queens and the event’s audience panicking and running to safety. The clip showed the audience hiding under tables, while the pageant participants were seen removing their heels and running off the stage. As per ABC News, the quake had hit at around 10 PM. The most affected places were Bogo and some rural towns in Cebu province. The pageant also had the Philippines' Anita Rose Gomez and the United States’ reigning queen Janelis Leyba. As per the Miss Asia-Pacific International (MAPI) Organisation, none of the contestants were injured. “Our hearts go out to everyone affected by this tragic event. We are grateful all our contestants are safe and accounted for,” the organisation reportedly had stated.
