A social media post so bizarre that half the internet was left convinced that it was a ‘fake’! Taking to the internet, a woman shared a screenshot of a rather problematic text- which was allegedly shared by another woman. As per the text, the woman was someone in the US, who was living with her husband. The text clarified that the husband had an H-1B visa, while the wife herself had an H4. Soon after US President Donald Trump passed the order raising the H-1B visa petition fee to USD 100,000, the woman went into panic mode, rethinking her marriage– or so is what the text conveyed. As per the text in the screenshot, the woman is now struggling to choose between her ‘H-1B visa holder husband and a Green Card holder colleague’- who allegedly ‘likes
her’. The woman further asked if she should ‘divorce’ her husband for the colleague, stating how she does not want to move back to India. The post was quick to go viral, leaving many reacting. The post also left many divided, as some sympathised with the husband, while the rest called the post ‘clickbait’ and ‘ragebait’. Times Now could not confirm the authenticity of the text. For those not aware, Trump, on Friday, signed an order raising the H-1B visa petition fee. The move was reportedly to ensure that only the ‘most skilled’ foreign individuals take up American jobs in the future- by protecting American jobs. As soon as the news of the same broke out on social media, immigrant employees working or planning to work in the US lost it. The order came into effect on September 21, Sunday- at 12:01 am EDT. “Hi Guys, Please help me with the decision. My husband is H1B holder earning 140k per year, I am H4 and working..we don't have kids due to this H1B visa uncertainty we are very stressed out. There is a guy in my office who is a green card holder who is financially well settled, he likes me a lot and I kinda like him too. Can I divorce my husband and marry my colleague..? I don't want to be stressed out for a visa in future and I never want to visit India again,” the text read.
