Pankaj Kapur on Shahid’s Success
In a Punjabi interview with SMTV, Pankaj Kapur reflected on how his own father encouraged him to pursue acting at a time when such ambitions were rare in Ludhiana.“My father was a man of great calibre. He would attend every play of mine. Before I left, he told me the English saying, ‘You have burnt your boats, don’t look back.’ That support inspired me. Whatever I learned from him, I passed on to my three children,” Kapur shared.Speaking about Shahid, he added, “Shahid is a self-made man. What could I have to do with his success? I contributed nothing more than genes. Everything he has achieved is because of his own hard work. I am very proud of it. The veteran actor also mentioned that he deliberately gave his children the freedom to make their own career choices. “They are always welcome to discuss ideas with me, but the final decisions will be theirs. On the professional side, Shahid Kapoor was last seen in Deva, directed by Rosshan Andrrews. The film, which also stars Pooja Hegde and Pavail Gulati.
