Mahabharat Actor Pankaj Dheer, Father Of Nikitin Dheer, Dies Of Cancer

actor Pankaj Dheer, known for playing Karn in BR Chopra’s Mahabharat, succumbed to cancer. He is actor Nikitin Dheer’s father and actress Kratika Sengar’s father-in-law. As per reports, he was extremely unwell after relapsed cancer. The actor had fought the ‘Big C’ sometime back.

Pankaj Dheer dies of cancer

CINTAA member Amit Behl, who was Pankaj’s close friend, confirmed the news to India Today. In a statement, the cine body wrote, “With profound grief and deep sorrow, we inform you of the passing away of our Trust’s erstwhile Chairman and CINTAA’s former Hon. General Secretary, Shri Pankaj Dheer ji, on 15th October 2025. Pankaj gained immense popularity on television and films. His made his acting debut with Poonam in 1981 and went on to star in Sookha, Meraa Suhaag, Randam Varavu, and Jeevan Ek Sanghursh. After working in numerous projects, BR Chopra's Mahabharat became his breakthrough. He played the role of Suryaputra Karn.

Mahabharat made him a household name and he shot to stardom that got him remarkable films and shows including Sanam Bewafa, Sadak, Zee Horror Show, Chandrakanta, Soldier, Baadshah, Andaaz, Sasural Simar Ka, Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat, Devon Ke Dev...Mahadev and Badho Bahu. His recent works such as TV series Dhruv Tara – Samay Sadi Se Pare and Ajooni saw him healthy.
