Every place, culture, tradition, country, and more- has its own set of stereotypes, and it’s not exactly something new. However, when it comes to India, it seems like the list of stereotypes is a bit too

long, where each one of them is simply ‘outdated’. Or so can be said based on THIS Russian woman's social media post. A Russian entrepreneur living in India, Anastasia Sharova, recently took to her social media handle and listed down several “outdated stereotypes” about India, that she stated that many “foreigners still believe”. Defusing each one of them, Sharova shared a long captioned post. From people believing that India is “dirty and chaotic”, “always overcrowded” and “always hot” to most believing Diwali to be the “main festival”, Bollywood to be the "biggest film industry” and everybody wanting to move abroad, Sharova addressed many “outdated stereotypes”.“Outdated stereotypes about India many foreigners still believe," the post read. “People abroad tell me these things all the time, not kidding:There is only one ‘Indian’ languageThere are 22 official languages and 121 MAJOR, and thousands minor languages, all widely spokenIndia is dirty and chaoticThere are different sides to the country, and it’s developing VERY rapidly.You need to bargain for everything, and everyone shops in the marketsIndia has the most efficient grocery delivery I’ve seen: click a button, and everything is at your doorstep in 5 minutes.
