
On the occasion of Vijaya Dashami, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) celebrated its 100th foundation day, marking a century of selfless service since its inception in 1925. To commemorate this historic milestone, Padma Shri awardee and internationally acclaimed sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik created a striking sand sculpture at Puri Beach with the message: “100 Years of Selfless Service.”The 6-foot-long artwork, crafted using approximately 8 tons of sand, paid tribute to RSS founder Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar and Shri Madhav Sadashivrao Golwalkar (Guruji), highlighting their visionary ideals for a strong and self-reliant Bharat.The centenary celebrations featured path sanchalan (route march), shastra pujan (worship of arms), and inspirational
addresses that reflected on the RSS’s enduring contributions to national unity and character building.Speaking on the occasion, Sudarsan Pattnaik said, “The RSS’s century-long journey of discipline and selfless service continues to inspire generations.” Students from his Sand Art Institute also joined in creating the sculpture.Pattnaik, who has represented India in over 65 international sand art events, is widely recognized for using his art to raise awareness about important social and environmental issues, including climate change, public health, and humanitarian causes.
