In what turns out to be a historic milestone, Kantara Chapter 1 has crossed the coveted Rs 100 crore mark in just 2 days. According to trade tracker Sacnilk, the film earned an impressive Rs 61.85 crore net across India on its opening day. What’s particularly noteworthy is the film’s strong performance across multiple languages - Rs 19.6 crore from Kannada, Rs 18.5 crore from Hindi, Rs 13 crore from Telugu, Rs 5.5 crore from Tamil, and Rs 5.25 crore from Malayalam. Originally rooted in Kannada cinema, the story’s transition into a full-blown pan-India phenomenon has taken both fans and industry observers by surprise.

Globally, Kantara Chapter 1 raked in around ₹89 crore gross on Day 1, setting a strong precedent for what’s to come. The momentum didn’t slow on the second day either, with early estimates suggesting a Rs 43.65 crore collection across India.
