Singer Zubeen Garg's untimely death has left his entire fandom mourning. The shocking news spread like wildfire, leaving India's music fraternity stunned. While tributes continue to pour in, Zubeen's fans have started collecting outside the Assamese singer's residence to offer their respects for the departed artist. On September 19, news came in that Zubeen died at the age of 52 following a scuba diving accident in Singapore. He reportedly fell into the sea during the adventure activity. Zubeen was there as part of the delegation at the Northeast Festival in Singapore. While the organisers cancelled the event, the management team also issued a statement giving details about the fatal accident.

Ever since, fans have bombarded social media with tearful messages. Many even gathered outside his home with candles, goodbye cards and flowers. Fan pages are flooded with photos and videos of how his followers are remembering him. Many also paid him tributes in silence across Assam's Guwahati and Jorhat. Shyamkanu Mahanta & Team, the manager of the singer's event in Singapore claimed in a statement that they weren't aware about his decision to go on a yatch visit. "We received a call from Zubeen’s manager informing us that he had met with an accident and had been rushed to Singapore General Hospital. Zubeen Garg was a hugely popular Indian playback singer, composer, lyricist, and actor, best known for his work in Assamese and Hindi music. He performed in more than 40 languages and dialects, also including Bishnupriya Manipuri, Adi, Boro, English, Goalpariya, Kannada, Karbi, Khasi, Malayalam, Marathi, Mising, Nepali, Odia, Sanskrit, Sindhi, Tamil, Telugu, and Tiwa. He was well versed in playing twelve instruments, and was reportedly the highest-paid singer in Assam. Zubeen is survived by his wife, Garima Saikia, a fashion designer from Golaghat, Assam.
