Congress Leaders Protest In Bihar
Congress workers on Thursday, October 23, staged a protest in Bihar's capital, Patna, against party's state in-charge Krishna Allavaru. The Congress workers alleged mismanagement in poll ticket distribution within the party. "Where is the party forum... tell me one single place where we should go and tell our problems. Where is the redressal forum? There is no redressal forum in Bihar Congress. We want to put our grievances in front of Rahul Gandhi," Congress leader Anand Madhav told news agency PTI.
According to local media reports, the disgruntled leader and workers of the Grand Old Party have announced a protest and hunger strike at Congress' state headquarters, Sadakat Ashram.
Congress Top Brass Rallies Behind Tejashwi Yadav
Former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav was declared chief ministerial candidate for the Bihar assembly elections by the INDIA bloc parties on Thursday. The 243-member Bihar Assembly will go to polls on November 6 and 11, and counting of votes will take place on November 14.Of the 243 seats in the assembly, the RJD and Congress are contesting 143 and 61, respectively, but both parties are headed for a "friendly fight" in at least five constituencies. Congress candidates are also up against the CPI, another alliance partner, in three other seats.
