
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Sunday transferred Rs 1,541 crore into the bank accounts of more than 1.26 crore women beneficiaries under the state's flagship Ladli Behna Yojana. Speaking
at an event in Sheopur, Yadav announced that the monthly assistance for women under the scheme will be increased from Rs 1,250 to Rs 1,500 starting this month. He said women can expect "more good news" ahead of the Bhai Dooj and Diwali festivals.Officials said this marks the 29th installment of the scheme, benefiting 1,26,86,000 women across the state. The transfer was made with a single click during the event, highlighting the government’s continued focus on women’s financial empowerment.Yadav also spoke about the Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal river linking project, saying it will significantly benefit farmers in the Sheopur region. "This project will help our farmers so much that one day this region will surpass Punjab and Haryana in agricultural production," he said.The CM urged farmers not to sell their land, calling it a valuable future asset. "In the coming years, this land will become many times more valuable. A new era of prosperity is about to begin for farmers," he added.Reiterating his government's commitment to the farming community, Yadav said Madhya Pradesh offers a procurement price of Rs 2,600 per quintal for wheat along with a bonus. He added that schemes like Bhavantar are being implemented to strengthen the rural economy.At the event, Yadav also inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for development projects worth over Rs 532 crore. He said welfare of farmers, women, youth, and the underprivileged remains his government’s top priority. Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, Yadav said, special attention is being given to these sections. He described the new medical college in Sheopur as a "major gift" for the region, adding that the number of medical colleges in Madhya Pradesh has risen from five in 2002 to 32 today."In just the past one year, eight new medical colleges have been established," Yadav said. He also announced plans to start nursing and paramedical colleges in the area soon and said a proposed broad-gauge rail line would open new avenues of employment and development.
