much-anticipated 70th Hyundai Filmfare Awards 2025 With Gujarat Tourism was held in Ahmedabad on October 11. Hosted by Shah Rukh Khan, Karan Johar and Maniesh Paul, the best talents and films released in 2024 were honoured. The top honours went to Alia Bhatt, Abhishek Bachchan, Kartik Aaryan, Pratibha Rannta and Rajkummar Rao.

'Best Actress' with maximum awards

The Best Actress award was received by Alia for her performance in Jigra. By far, she has been honoured with the trophy for Udta Punjab, Raazi, Gully Boy, Gangubai Kathiawadi

, and Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. This year, she won her sixth Filmfare Award for Best Actress. It was Alia’s third win in a row. Alia now holds six Filmfare Best Actress Awards. Previously, Nutan and Kajol held the record of maximum trophies. The yesteryear actress Nutan broke Meena Kumari's record of five wins with Main Tulsi Tere Aangan Ki in 1979. Her niece Kajol carried the legacy forward. At the 70th Hyundai Filmfare Awards 2025 With Gujarat Tourism, she won her sixth trophy in the Cine Icons category. While Alia couldn’t make it to the 70th Hyundai Filmfare Awards 2025 With Gujarat Tourism, she penned a note on Instagram. The actress wrote, “This one will always stay closest to my heart … not just for the story we told, but for the incredible people who gave it life. @vasanbala, thank you for seeing it the way you did. @vedangraina, #VivekGomber, #ManojPahwa, @rahulr_23, @yuvvrajjviijan , @dheerhira.. thank you for the honesty you brought to every frame. So grateful to @filmfare for the honour, and to everyone who found a piece of themselves in this film. I wish I could’ve been there to hold that moment in person, but my heart is full all the same. It felt truly full circle @karanjohar, @dharmamovies, @grish1234 and @eternalsunshineproduction coming together for this one. And I’ll always be thankful for my real-life Jigra, @shaheenb for being my calm through it all.”

Workwise, Alia is shooting for Love & War with Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal. The film is directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and will release in March 2026.
