In an exclusive interview with Zoom, Bhuvan recalled how director Shachindra Vats completely changed his approach to a scene. He shared that during one intense sequence, he had initially portrayed Hemant’s anger in an overt, forceful way. However, the director quietly advised him to “not show it” and instead let silence speak louder than words. “I was playing Hemant’s anger in a very outward, forceful way; Shachindra sir came to me quietly and said, 'Try not showing it. Let your silence hurt more than your words.' It completely shifted the energy of the scene. That’s when I understood how he wanted Janaawar to breathe not loud, but piercing.", Bhuvan revealed, adding that it helped him understand the film’s subtle, piercing tone.
Talking about his process of getting into Hemant’s restrained inner world, Bhuvan said he consciously worked on slowing himself down and allowing silences to communicate emotion. “I worked on slowing myself down, letting silences do the talking. It wasn’t about performing but about holding back and trusting that the camera would catch what’s inside. To prepare for what happens inside me, there is a dedicated process that I have. It’s pretty elaborate.,” he explained.Recalling his experience shooting in small towns, Bhuvan also shared how the real-world setting often added unexpected magic to the scenes. During one outdoor sequence, a group of curious children gathered around the set. Instead of halting the shoot, Shachindra Vats allowed the moment to unfold naturally. "Instead of stopping, Shachindra sir let it play out. Their raw curiosity actually heightened the scene’s authenticity - it felt like Hemant was really being observed by the town. Those are the moments you can’t plan, but they give a special life to the story," added Bhuvan. Janaawar is currently streaming on Zee5!
