Vikrant Massey's Exclusive Interview
Talking to Times Now Group Editor-in-Chief Navika Kumar, Vikrant revealed how he received his first-ever audition for a TV serial while he was still working with choreographer Shiamak Davar. He said, "In a restaurant, on Diwali night, I had gone to a restaurant in Mumbai, Pali Hill, and I get called out of the blue. This lady, named Deepti Kalwani, she walks up to me and says 'we are casting for a new TV show, will you do it?' And I was working with Shiamak Davar at that time, as an assistant instructor in his troupe, so, I said, 'No, I'm already working.' But then, that's a long story, they were persistent, and they reached out to me time and again, and then I said yes and my acting journey began."
When Navika joked out the beginning of Stardom from a loo, Massey humbly replied, "I won't call it a Stardom, am not a star." Further, he added, "I don't understand that concept, when you walk on the streets, people recognize you, that is popularity, just a famous guy by virtue of his job. Now, my work is reaching people's phones today. Stardom is something else, and I am miles away from stardom. Stars are like Shah Rukh Khan, stars are like Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, they are stars, my journey has only just begun... there's a long way."
