The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Wednesday arrested former Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) commissioner Dinesh Kumar in a money laundering case linked to alleged illegal site allotments.Officials said Kumar will be produced before a special court under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) in Bengaluru, where the agency is likely to seek his custody. The arrest followed searches on Tuesday at two of his residences in the city. The ED alleged that Kumar, during his tenure as MUDA commissioner, was involved in large-scale illegal allotments of sites in exchange for personal gains and had an “active” role in laundering money. The case stems from a Karnataka Lokayukta Police FIR that also names Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, his wife
BM Parvathi, his brother-in-law Mallikarjuna Swamy, and others in connection with the land allotment probe.
