Ameesha Patel Questions Bollywood’s Future After the Superstar Era
In an exclusive interview with Zoom, Ameesha questioned Bollywood’s future once the era of superstars ends. She said, “I wonder sometimes what’s going to happen to Bollywood after superstars like Akshay, Ajay, Sunny, Salman, Shah Rukh, Hrithik — all these people who have been around for 25, 30, 40 years. Sunny, I think, has been the leading man for the longest among all, still being the poster boy at 68, 69, which is fantastic. Do I see this happening with the current generation, whose content people don’t even turn on OTT to watch? Forget coming to the cinema, I don’t know about that because the box office has a very different story to tell.”Ameesha Talks About the Importance of Female Leads
Adding to the conversation, she said, “So where the roles are going, I feel women deserve better roles because there is a huge audience that comes for them. They bring in the glamour quotient, the emotional quotient, and the soul to films. The love stories, the motherly figure, the sisterly figure — she adds that layer, that drama, everything. It’s actually the industry’s loss that they are not giving women the position they deserve, they are not giving them roles, privileges, or even putting them on posters anymore.”Ameesha was last seen inDo you find this article useful?
