Talking to Mid Day, Shalini Pandey said she always wanted to work with Dhanush. “I always wanted to work with Dhanush sir because he is an incredible artiste, but working under his direction was all the more exciting,” said Shalini Pandey.

She also spoke about meeting Dhanush in early 2024 when he narrated the story of Idli Kadai with immense a clarity, which she rarely came across. On set too, it was the director’s conviction that worked out for Shalini. “All I had to do was follow Dhanush sir’s instructions because he knows exactly the kind of expressions he wants from the character. So, it becomes easy for you as an actor, He is hands-on with his actors. At no point will you feel alone on the set. He is there with you at every step.”

The film saw a notable increase in night shows, with Chennai (85 per cent), Dindigul (89 per cent), and Trichy (84 per cent) leading the surge. Other key centres such as Coimbatore (76 per cent), Pondicherry (80 per cent), and Madurai (72 per cent) also reported strong footfall.Idli Kadai marks Dhanush’s 52nd film as an actor and his fourth as a director.
