Madhumati, Veteran Actress And Dancer, Dies At 87; Akshay Kumar, Vindu Dara Singh Mourn Demise

Veteran actress and dancer Madhumati has passed away at the age of 87. She was an incredible performer and artist who has made an immense contribution to Indian cinema. She was often compared to the legendary

dancer of her time, Helen. After her demise, actor Vindu Dara Singh, Akshay Kumar have mourned her demise.

Madhumati is no more

Vindu Dara Singh took to his X handle and shared a picture of Madhumati to pay tribute to the veteran actress. He wrote, “Rest in peace our teacher and guide #Madhumati ji. A beautiful life led filled with love and blessings from so many of us who learnt dancing from this legend.”

Akshay Kumar has also paid tribute to the veteran artist. He shared a throwback picture with Madhumati and called her ‘first guru’. He wrote, “My first and forever guru. Everything I know about dance, I learnt at your feet, Madhumati ji. Har ada, har expression mein aapki yaad hamesha saath rahegi. Om Shanti.”

Madhumati was born in 1938 in Maharashtra and began her career as a dancer in 1957 with an unreleased Marathi film. She was a trained Bharatnatyam, Kathak, Manipuri and Kathakali dancer. Madhumati was married to Deepak Manohar, who was a respected dancer of that time. She was 19 when she married him. Deepak was the father of four kids, and his first wife had died. Madhumati was not ready to marry Deepak, but due to her mother’s wish, she married him. Madhumati's death has indeed left the entire film industry in shock. May her soul rest in peace!
