A video highlighting the aftermath of Diwali celebrations in Delhi has sparked outrage online after heaps of garbage were seen dumped in front of a Shiva statue on Punjabi Bagh Ring Road. Shared by Instagram
user The Angry Indian, the clip exposes the ugly side of festive celebrations — with flower remains, plastic wrappers, and puja waste strewn all over the street just a day after the festival. In the clip, the man behind the camera delivers a sharp critique of how people treat public spaces once the festivities end. He argues that the real issue isn’t limited to smog or firecrackers, but to the collective attitude that “someone else will clean up” the next day. Questioning the mindset, he says, “This problem with India is that we take everything for granted. We feel that if it’s our festival to celebrate, we can do anything just because koi na koi saaf karne wala agle din aayega. Do you think this is justified for our pleasure, just for our faith?”
