world boxing champion Mary Kom's residence in Faridabad, Haryana, was robbed earlier this week, while she was away in Meghalaya for a marathon event.Her two-story bungalow, named Ibeneser Inn, located in Faridabad Sector 46, was reportedly locked for several days and was robbed on Wednesday (September 24).Unknown miscreants broke into her house and stole valuable items worth several lakhs, according to officials. However, the robbery came to light on Saturday, when her neighbours were checking her CCTV footage and spotted some people running away with valuables, carrying them on their shoulders.After they were sure that the boxer's house had been robbed, they immediately informed the police.

According to officials, the suspects broke into the house from the first-floor balcony after breaking a door. Mary Kom, while speaking to ANI on the theft reported at her residence in Faridabad, said, "I am not at home. I will know exactly when I reach home. CCTV footage shows them (thieves) taking away the TV and other things."She added, "I was told by my neighbours that this happened on September 24. This happened at my Faridabad home...I have informed the police."While Surajkund Police Station SHO Prahlad Singh said that the theft was reported yesterday, adding that the police are gathering evidence as they checked the CCTV footage."The house was locked as the residents had gone out, and theft was reported yesterday... We are gathering evidence and checking CCTV... This is the house of Mary Kom... The matter is under investigation by 5-7 teams of the Crime Branch," he said.The police said that a case has been registered, and a probe is underway to find the thieves.
