ED Conducts Raid At Mammootty's Production House Amid Operation Numkhor In Kerala
Mammootty, the Malayalam superstar and father of Dulquer Salmaan, is reportedly in legal trouble. As per the latest report, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted a raid today (October 8) at a property
connected to him on Greenways Road, Chennai. Mammootty, Dulquer Salmaan and the team associated with Wayfare Films are yet to react to the raid.
Mammootty's property raided
According to India Today, eight ED officers were accompanied by CRPF personnel to the premises of Wayfare Films within a property owned by Mammooty. This comes a few days after ED’s Kochi Zonal Office carried out raids across Kerala and Tamil Nadu amid an ongoing investigation into the smuggling of high-end luxury vehicles and unauthorised foreign exchange dealings. Officials said, "The ED Kochi Zonal Office is conducting search operations under FEMA, 1999 on 08 October 2025 at 17 locations across Kerala and Tamil Nadu in connection with the ongoing probe into smuggling of high-end luxury vehicles and unauthorised foreign exchange dealings.""The searches were based on inputs exposing a syndicate engaged in illegal import and registration of luxury cars such as Land Cruiser, Defender, and Maserati through Indo-Bhutan/Nepal routes," they added."Preliminary findings reveal a Coimbatore-based network using forged documents (purporting to be from Indian Army, US Embassy, and MEA) and fraudulent RTO registrations in Arunachal Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, and other states. Vehicles were later sold to HNI individuals, including film personalities, at undervalued prices," said ED.
Dulquer Salmaan also connected
The actor moved the Kerala High Court, seeking the release of his luxury vehicle seized during a recent customs raid, arguing that the seizure was unjustified and had adversely impacted his reputation. Searches were conducted at Dulquer’s residence on September 23, and two of his luxury cars were seized.Reacting to the media’s coverage of the issue, the actor said in his plea, “Publicity was given in media for vested reasons on the seizure, and the vehicle was carried as though included with certain other vehicles as being used for smuggling, carrying drugs, contraband and for anti-state activities. This has put the petitioner in a bad light, affecting his reputation.”Wayfare Films was launched in 2019 by Dulquer Salmaan. The Customs Preventive wing raided the residences of high-net-worth individuals in Kerala, including Dulquer and Prithviraj Sukumaran. The operation is named Numkhor, which in Bhutanese means Vehicle. Reportedly, customs has been checking the alleged illegal import of second-hand vehicles from Bhutan.
