Actor Siddhu Jonnalagadda has spoken about a recent incident which took place at the Telusu Kada trailer launch, where a journalist asked him if he was a "womaniser in real life" similar to his on-screen
character. The question, asked during a public event, placed the actor in an uncomfortable position, following which he avoided to answer it directly.The next day, Siddhu Jonnalagadda met the members of the press where he provided a reaction to the incident.
Siddhu Jonnalaggada Appeals For Respect After Being Asked 'Are You A Womaniser' Question
During the trailer launch of his upcoming film Siddhu Jonnalagadda was questioned about his real-life behaviour in relation to his character in his film. The question, coming from a woman journalist, drew attention from both event attendees and netizens.Rather than responding immediately Siddhu Jonnalaggada decided to maintain calm on stage. He said, "Is this an event for my film or about my personal life?" The next day, Siddhu Jonnalagadda met reporters in Hyderabad and said, “Just because someone has a mic doesn’t mean they can ask all kinds of questions. It created a disrespectful and toxic environment,” he said. He stated that it is important for everyone whether they are female or male, to “maintain respect.” The actor urged journalists to focus on films, and not personal lives Siddhu Jonnalagadda further appealed to the press that media plays an important role in disseminating images, and that a limit should not be crossed. He said that journalists need not focus too much on the personal lives of actors.
Siddhu Jonnalagadda said, "Just because someone holds a mic, it doesn’t mean they can ask anything in any manner. It was disrespectful and created a toxic environment," directly addressing the conduct during the event.
