Shah tore his clothes, lay down on the road and cried outside the residence of party chief Lalu Yadav after being denied a ticket. Madan Shah alleged that his candidature was rejected after he refused to pay an amount of Rs 2.7 crore. "Lalu Prasad Yadav promised to give me a ticket for the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025... RJD leader Sanjay Yadav had demanded ₹2.7 crore, and when I refused to pay, the party ticket was given to someone else," Shah said, as quoted by PTI. Breaking down outside the RJD chief's residence, Shah said, "They are giving away tickets. Sanjay Yadav is doing all this. I have come here to die. Lalu Yadav is my Guru. He had said that he would give me a ticket, but it was given to Santosh Kushwaha, a BJP agent..."
