James Norton to join The Beatles — A Four-Film Cinematic Event
According to a report in Deadline, Norton will become the unofficial fifth member of The Beatles by playing their manager, Brian Epstein. He met the Fab Four in Liverpool in 1961 at the Cavern Club during a lunchtime concert and eventually put them under contract. The British band, with Epstein's help, landed a deal with EMI’s Parlophone label. Earlier this year, Sony had announced actors Paul Mescal as Paul McCartney, Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr, Joseph Quinn as George Harrison, and Harris Dickinson as John Lennon. Sam Mendes is directing four films for each band member. Norton is a known face on British TV, headlining shows such as Grantchester and Happy Valley. Last year, in the Bob Marley: One Love biopic, he played Island Records founder Christopher Blackwell. With high-profile roles in Netflix's House of Guinness and HBO Max's upcoming House of the Dragon Season 3, Norton's star is definitely rising.
