Donald Trump’s trade advisor, who has been accused by former US NSA John Bolton of creating a rift between India-US ties, targeted New Delhi again but with a changed tone, a day before top Washington negotiator Branden Lynch visit to India to discuss a trade deal.During an interview with CNBC, Peter Navarro spoke on India-US trade talks, saying that India is coming to the table and mentioned PM Modi’s conciliatory and constructive tweet, as well as President Donald Trump’s response to it."India is coming to the table. However, Navarro did mention India’s high tariffs, saying, "We know that on the rare side, they have the highest tariffs of any major country. They have very high non-tariff barriers. The White House advisor received heavy backlash for his anti-India remarks and was even blamed by Donald Trump's former NSA, John Bolton, for ruining the relationship between New Delhi and Washington.Peter Navarro justified Trump's 50 per cent tariffs on India and attempted to create a civil rift in the country by claiming that 'Brahmins were profiteering' when India was purchasing Russian oil.
