‘Things European Gyms Should Learn From India’: Ukrainian Woman Lists Down Reasons | Viral
It’s quite common for many Indians to want a life in Europe. After all, not only are European countries beautiful, but these nations are often looked up to when it comes to maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
But is the ‘maintenance’ part that easy? If this Ukrainian woman is to be believed, the case is a bit different. Taking to social media, the said woman- Viktoriia Chakraborty- listed four reasons why she feels that “European gyms should learn from India”. As per the post, the woman has been training in Indian gyms since 2017. With her observation over the years, the woman shared the perks of Indian gyms- then she called them better than gyms in Europe. She began by pointing out how memberships in Indian gyms are more affordable than gym fee rates in Europe. She further lauded the facilities that she gets in Indian gyms. For her second reason, the woman stated that Indian gyms have a better ‘Community vibe’. She stated that people often “ talk, share tips, spot each other” and so on, which is not common in Europe. For the third reason, the woman claimed that Indian gyms offer “Flexible hours and plans”, whereas European gyms mostly rely on “yearly contracts”. As her fourth reason, the woman stated that trainers are more “accessible” in Indian gyms. The post went viral and left many reacting. Some agreed with the woman, while others had otherwise to say. Times Now could not confirm the authenticity of the post.

“I’ve been training in Indian gyms since 2017 and honestly, there are things European gyms should learn from India 1 Affordable membershipsIn India, fitness is accessible. You don’t need to spend €50–100 a month like in Europe. Even mid-range gyms here give full facilities at a fraction of the price. That keeps more people consistent,” the post read. “2️ Community vibeIndian gyms feel social. People talk, share tips, spot each other, and actually know the trainer’s name. It’s less lonely compared to the “headphones-on, no-eye-contact” culture in Europe.3️ Flexible hours & plansMany Indian gyms open super early or stay late. Plus, day passes, monthly, quarterly there’s flexibility for students, travelers, and professionals. In Europe, most gyms are strict with yearly contracts.4️ Trainer accessibilityIn India, you don’t always need to pay extra just to get advice. Trainers often guide you casually, correct your form, and check in on your progress. In Europe, personal attention is usually locked behind expensive PT packages,” the post concluded.
