‘No Mic, No Dupatta Gang’: Viral Video Of Women Doing Tradition ‘Street’ Garba Wins Netizens
Amid devotees and the internet ranting and complaining about ‘Dupatta Gangs’, other misconduct and such at garba events- a rather wholesome video went viral on social media- after winning almost everyone.
The clip-in-question showed some women dressed in sarees, performing garba on a street. Netizens were quick to point out how the ‘group did not have a DJ’ playing songs for them or a professional singer singing all kinds of Bollywood tracks on a mic and loudspeaker– it was instead just the said group of women singing and dancing. As per what was seen in the video, the group was encircling a religious idol. According to many netizens, such garba is ‘common’ and is a ‘preferred’ way of celebration in Gujarat. Most netizens loved the ‘pure vibe’ the garba dancers gave, while some commented on how they too want to experience something similar. Times Now could not confirm the exact details or the authenticity of the post. India is currently celebrating one of the most hailed Hindu festivals, Navratri. The festival began on September 22 and will end on October 02.
