Jordan is being lined up to play Ricardo Tubbs in Universal’s big-screen reboot, new updates suggest that Austin Butler may join the cast as his partner, James “Sonny” Crockett. The film, to be directed by Top Gun: Maverick filmmaker Joseph Kosinski, aims to bring back the signature blend of action, glamour, and danger that defined the original TV series.

According to Deadline, Butler is currently in early talks for the role of Sonny Crockett, the suave detective originally portrayed by Don Johnson in the hit NBC series created by Anthony Yerkovich and produced by Michael Mann. Sources mention to the portal that the discussions are still in the initial phase and no deal has been finalised yet.
