Mohanlal Expresses Gratitude To Kerala Government For Felicitation Ceremony Honouring His Dadasaheb Phalke Award Win

Malayalam superstar Mohanlal, who was recently conferred with the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award for his legendary contribution to Indian cinema, was honoured by the Kerala government at the ‘Malayalam

Vanolam Lalsalam’ event in Thiruvananthapuram on Saturday.The Chief Minister of Kerala, Pinarayi Vijayan, presented Mohanlal with a beautifully written citation by poet Prabha Varma on behalf of the state government.

Mohanlal’s Emotional Speech

An emotional Mohanlal recalled his humble beginnings and childhood dreams of cinema. “I am indebted to Dadasaheb Phalke. I stand here with even greater emotional weight than the moment I received the award, because Thiruvananthapuram is my hometown. When I think back to those early days when a few friends and I, knowing nothing about cinema, dreamt of making films, it now fills me with awe,” the actor shared.Mohanlal also expressed heartfelt gratitude to his peers and well-wishers who supported him throughout his journey. “Whenever I was about to sink, someone always lifted me up. Every art form has evolved with time, and through this evolution, I have undertaken this journey,” he said.

National Honour in New Delhi

The Dadasaheb Phalke Award was presented to Mohanlal by President Droupadi Murmu at the 71st National Awards ceremony held at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi on September 23. The actor received a standing ovation as he accepted the honour. His wife, Suchitra Mohanlal, who attended the ceremony, was visibly emotional when Mohanlal walked on stage to collect the award.
