The 71st National Film Awards is scheduled for 4 p.m. on September 23, 2025, at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi. President Droupadi Murmu will present the awards, while honouring the artists in films released in 2023. Audience can watch the ceremony live on YouTube via the official DD News Channel, with the broadcast beginning at 3 p.m. It will follow up the winners walking the red carpet and receiving their awards on stage.

Shah Rukh Khan to receive first National award

The day he won National Award, Shah Rukh shared a video message on his official X (formerly Twitter) account. In the video, SRK could be heard saying, "Needless to say I'm overwhelmed with gratitude, pride and humility. To be honoured with the National Award is a moment that I will cherish for a lifetime. Thank you so much to the jury, the chairman and to the INB ministry and to everyone who thought I was worthy of this honour."
