According to reports from India Today, the call reached police personnel at the Khutar outpost of Kotwali police station. Officer Umesh Vishwakarma responded promptly, speaking to both the boy and his mother. According to the Associated Press, the boy told the Racine County dispatcher, "My mom is being bad." As the police officer tried to understand the situation, he asked, "Okay, what’s going on?" The boy, determined to get justice, even urged, "Come and get my mommy!"
