Tamil director Mari Selvaraj has been criticised by a section of film lovers over his collaboration with rapper Vedan, Me Too Accused, with multiple sexual harassment complaints against him. The filmmaker joined hands with Vedan for a song in actor Dhruv Vikram's Bison. The Internet questioned Mari for platforming an abuser in his film.Malayalam rapper and songwriter Hirandas Murali, more popularly known as Vedan, has been booked for rape on a complaint lodged by a young doctor accusing him of sexually abusing her on the promise of marriage.The comments not only criticised Mari Selvaraj, but also called out Madras director Pa Ranjith for working with actor John Vijay, who was accused of sexual misconduct.

A user on X wrote, "Pa. Ranjith and Mari Selvaraj continue platforming artists like John Vijay and Vedan. They become one with the same enemies they are fighting despite the movement they represent. Highly unacceptable." Another user wrote, "Really disappointing to see Mari working with predators like Vedan.

Vedan had faced sexual abuse allegations in the past during the height of the Me Too movement.Recently Police officials arrested Kerala rapper Vedan, after they recovered six grams of ganja from his apartment near Vyttila in Kochi, Kerala. The narcotic substance was allegedly recovered by the police following a tip-off. It is reported that Vedan had reached the house along with eight friends after a stage show.The artist first found to fame in June 2020 when he released his debut music video, Voice of the Voiceless, on YouTube.Bison written and directed by Mari Selvaraj. It is jointly produced by Sameer Nair, Deepak Seigal, Pa. Ranjith and Aditi Anand under Applause Entertainment and Neelam Studios. The film stars Dhruv Vikram, Anupama Parameswaran Lal, Pasupathy, Rekka Rekka, from Bison is sung by Arivu and rapper Vedan. Bison' is gearing up for a grand release on October 17.
