thing that everyone loves about OpenAI is that the company keeps bringing new updates that elevates the user experience and give them better control over ChatGPT. And now, the company has dropped a new Thinking mode for all the Plus, Pro, and Business tier users, which allows them to select the time GPT takes to respond in case of deeper queries. OpenAI took it to X and posted that all ChatGPT Plus, Pro, and Business users will now have the ability to customize the time it takes in Thinking mode. Thinking mode on ChatGPT is used for detailed, in-depth queries that rely on advanced reasoning skills.

ChatGPT New Thinking Mode

All the ChatGPT Plus and Business tier users will get two options in Thinking mode, including Standard and Extended. As mentioned by OpenAI, the Standard mode could be dubbed the best for striking a balance between speed and intelligence. For all the ChatGPT Pro tier users, there will be two additional modes including Light and Heavy. Light will offer the quickest responses, and Heavy will consume the highest time. One thing to note here is that the Thinking mode options for ChatGPT are only available on the web version. As of now, OpenAI has not shared any details about the debut of Thinking mode for iOS and Android applications. As for the usage, subscribers need to click on Thinking mode, and the options will appear in the drop down menu. From there, the users can simply select the best suited mode for their queries. And the selected mode will remain there for future conversations until the user changes it deliberately. Moreover, the India-specific ChatGPT Go subscribers are not going to get any of the modes as of now.
