Puri: To celebrate Team India’s remarkable victory in the Asia Cup 2025, Padma Shri awardee and internationally renowned sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik has created a spectacular sand art installation today
at Puri Beach, Odisha.Unveiled at 5 PM, the artwork is a vibrant tribute to the nation’s cricket heroes. At the heart of the sculpture is a huge Sindoor (vermilion), symbolizing India’s cultural pride and divine blessings. Surrounding it are key elements representing the spirit of victory: a cricket bat and ball, a Rafale fighter jet reflecting India’s strength and resilience, and a miniature stadium capturing the energy of the game.
The installation creatively blends patriotism, sportsmanship, and tradition, turning the beach into a celebration zone for cricket fans and festival-goers alike during the ongoing Durga Puja.Speaking on the occasion, Pattnaik said, “This sand art is my way of congratulating Team India. The Sindoor represents Maa Durga’s blessings, while the bat, ball, and stadium capture the thrill of the win. The Rafale jet symbolizes national pride and power.” Sudarsan Pattnaik, who has participated in over 65 international sand sculpture championships, is known for turning sand into powerful stories that reflect current events, festivals, and social messages. This creation is yet another inspiring example of how art can unite the nation in celebration.
