SS Rajamouli's Dadasaheb Phalke Biopic Put On Back Burner Due To Prabhas, Jr NTR - Report
Two films are being made on Dadasaheb Phalke, regarded as the father of Indian cinema. While Aamir Khan's film with Rajkumar Hirani is underway, work on SS Rajamouli's Dadasaheb Phalke biopic appears to
be put on hold. To be directed by Nitin Kakkar, the film has reportedly been put on the back burner due to Jr NTR and Prabhas. According to a media report, Jr NTR was supposed to lead the project. But his schedule issues led to Prabhas being apparently considered for the role.
Update on SS Rajamouli's Dadasaheb Phalke biopic
Talking about Prabhas' busy work schedule, a source told Mid-Day, "He is busy for the remainder of 2025 and through early 2026. Prabhas begins shooting for Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit later this year, and will move to Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2898 AD Part 2 when that goes on floors."Due to this, Nitin has reportedly shifted his focus to Awarapan 2 with Emraan Hashmi and Disha Patani. The sequel to Awarapan is currently being shot in Thailand. "Kakkar didn’t want to sit idle waiting for the Phalke project to clear its hurdles. It made sense to move ahead with Awarapan 2," the source added.ALSO READ - Dadasaheb Phalke's Grandson Raises Objection Against SS Rajamouli's Biopic, Wants Aamir Khan To Go AheadAs per the media report, the film will be revived only when the right star is available.
Dadasaheb Phalke's grandson raises objection
Earlier, in an interview, Dadasaheb Phalke's grandson Chandrashekhar Srikrishna Pusalkar raised objections against SS Rajamouli's biopic. He told Amar Ujala that the filmmaker never contacted him."I have been hearing discussions about Rajamouli’s project but he never contacted me for it. No one spoke to me on behalf of Rajamouli. If someone is making a film on Phalke ji, then at least the family should be talked to."Meanwhile, uncertainty reportedly looms over this project because of its potential leading men, Jr NTR and Prabhas.
