Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani's Kabir Singh was one of the biggest blockbusters of 2019. Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the romantic drama also received major backlash. Many people thought that the film
was misogynistic. And now, actor Adil Hussain, who was a part of Kabir Singh, has echoed the same sentiment. In an interview, the actor admitted that he regrets doing the Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial.
Adil Hussain on Kabir Singh
In an interview with Mid-Day, Adil admitted that it was his fault that he didn't read Kabir Singh's script. "I was travelling extensively with Mukti Bhawan then and didn’t have the time to go through the full script or watch the original Telugu version [Arjun Reddy]," he said. The actor recalled telling his manager to quote five times his usual fee, hoping that the makers back out. However, they didn't. Adil eventually accepted the role in Kabir Singh after reading a scene that he initially thought was 'brilliantly written'. But the actor's perception changed after the film hit big screen.ALSO READ - Shahid Kapoor's Kabir Singh Co-Star Arjan Bajwa Opens Up About Feeling 'Insecure' On Set: Just Trying To Be Better..."I found it misogynistic.
