The actor plays Jaraj Saxena, a Bollywood star who's stuck in a contract dispute with a top studio. In the show, Jaraj longs to make a comeback and with his performance in the meta series, Rajat has made a triumphant return to acting. Recently, the actor addressed why he didn't take up any television shows when the going was rough.
Rajat Bedi explains why he didn't take TV roles in tough times
In an interview with Siddharth Kannan on his YouTube channel, Rajat revealed that his career saw lots of ups and downs. There came a time when he signed several bad films that didn't work. He recalled, "But thank god I took a break. Now I'm not coming with that baggage. Earlier they would add this baggage to you, that look, Rajat has done these all bad films too. Let's not cast him." He admitted to being offered a TV show produced by Balaji during this time. Rajat said, "I don't remember the show title but yes, a show was offered in which I had a leading character. Mera dil nahin maan raha tha ke main television karun [My heart wasn't feeling that I should do television]. Television gives you a lot of exposure. But sometimes it's short-lived. If the show doesn't work, then what will you do? That's when he decided to take a break and go to Canada instead.
