New Delhi's message of "One India" has landed in Ottawa. Canada's top security advisor admitted that the Khalistan threat, extraditions, and territorial integrity are now at the heart of Indo-Canadian
talks. After a key meeting with NSA Ajit Doval, Ottawa's NSIA Nathalie Drouin said both sides have "a common understanding" - Delhi wants respect for its territorial integrity, while Canada seeks safer streets."We have found a way, as I said, to address mutual concerns, and for leaders to be able to talk about (the) trade relationship. I don't want to get into the specifics of the discussions. I think we were talking about violence in our country. They also talked about extraditions as they wanted us to be faster in responding to their requests," NSIA Nathalie G Drouin told reporters in Ottawa on Thursday, The Canadian Press reported.Asked about her meeting NSA Ajit Doval in New Delhi on September 18, Drouin said, "It was a productive meeting where we established a channel of communication to talk about respective concerns.""We have a common understanding and common goal here. They want us to be very clear in terms of One India and the respect of the integrity of their territory and what we want is safer streets in Canada," she added. This comes days after it was confirmed that Canada's Minister of Foreign Affairs Anita Anand will be travelling to India for a bilateral visit. In an interview with Bloomberg earlier this week, Anand said she planned to travel to India and China soon to "ensure" that Canada has "a bilateral relationship with significant economic powers in the Indo-Pacific".
