A heartwarming story from Assam is winning hearts across the internet — that of Abdul Alim, a man who went from working as a security guard to becoming a software engineer at Zoho. His incredible rise, built on grit and late-night learning, has resurfaced online after an old LinkedIn post detailing his journey went viral.Back in 2013, Alim left his hometown with just Rs 1,000 in his pocket, spending Rs 800 on a train ticket and taking up a job as a security guard to survive. But his life changed when a senior employee noticed something special in him.“One day, one of the senior employees of the company asked my name and said – Alim, I can see something in your eyes (sounds filmy I know). He asked me about my studies and my computer knowledge.
In school I learned a little bit of HTML. Then he asked me if I wanted to learn more, and this is how my learning began,” Alim shared in his post.Determined to make the most of the opportunity, Alim spent his nights studying after finishing his 12-hour shifts. “Since every day after completing my 12-hour security shift, I would go to the senior and learn from him,” he added.
