As per Siasat’s report, Rishab has decided not to take remuneration for Kantara Chapter 1. Reportedly, he has chosen to receive fees based on the film's box office performance. According to the official synopsis, “Rishab Shetty transforms into a fierce Naga Sadhu, a warrior-mystic destined to become the bridge between mortals and the divine. Ancient rituals, supernatural forces, and tribal struggles collide in a cinematic spectacle like no other — this isn’t just a prequel, it’s the origin of a myth.”The film is set in the Kadamba period in Karnataka. According to CBFC certification details reported by Bollywood Hungama, the makers have been instructed to remove an obscene hand gesture around the 45-minute mark. Additionally, a ticker was inserted during sequences showing drug use at 52 and 53 minutes, reading: “Consumption and trafficking of Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances is Prohibited in Law and Punishable with Rigorous Imprisonment and Fine.”Directed and written by Rishab, Kantara Chapter 1 releases on October 2 in Kannada, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil, Bengali, and English. The film also stars Gulshan Devaiah, Rukmini Vasanth, Jayaram, PD Satish Chandra, and Prakash Thuminad, among others. This is the prequel of Kantara, which released in theatres in 2022.
