
As festivals are approaching, the Northern Railways has announced to add an extra 30 lakh berths across its network to accommodate the heavy flow of passengers travelling home to celebrate Diwali and Chhath Puja with their families. The move is aimed at removing the "regret status" shown on the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) app while booking the train tickets.Now, passengers travelling across North India will no longer see the "Coach Regret" status while booking their train tickets.As during the festive season, demands for trains increase, the new initiative will help people travel without being disappointed. Northern Railway Chief Public Relations Officer Himanshu Shekhar Upadhyay said, "A pilot project is underway
regarding the 'regret' status."For now, 3000 additional coaches have been added to trains, and the authorities will add more depending on the need.A railway official said, "Special trains are running during the festivals to various cities in Purvanchal, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Uttar Pradesh.
