Yu Menglong Death Case: C-Drama Love's Ambition In Trouble Over Fan Shiqi's Casting, Concert Sells Only 15 Tickets Amid Demand For Ban

actor and singer Fan Shiqi is facing the heat of the internet just when his latest drama Love's Ambition released on September 26. Even though in a minor role, netizens are bashing the 33-year-old, and even demanding a ban on the show or editing out his portions. The new drama is Zhao Lusi's acting comeback following her ill-health in the past few months, and also stars William Chan in the lead.

Fan Shiqi accused in Yu Menglong death

Fan Shiqi being one of the cast members has however, left many unhappy. And the reason is late Chinese actor Yu Menglong aka Alan Yu, who died at the age of 37 on September 11 after reportedly falling off a building.

Yu Menglong reportedly hosted a small get-together on the night of his passing. He called some of his friends, allegedly also including Fan. Those in attendance have now been accused of playing a part in his death.

Demand for banning Fan Shiqi

Though police rejected anything doubtful or anyone's involvement, Yu Menglong's death has raised many questions among netizens after viral video clips surfaced from moments before his fatal fall. While many netizens allege a foul play, some have even raised the names of 5 people who were apparently at Yu's apartment during the incident. And Fan Shiqi happens to be one of them. Other four are Gao Taiyu, Song Yiren, Mikey Jiao, and Tian Hairong.

Netizens react to Fan Shiqi's role in Love's Ambition

"Ha, there's Fan Shiqi here. Why does it have to be him? Hope his scene is just a little bit only lah. So unhappy to see him because of Alan Yu's death case," wrote a netizen on X (formerly Twitter). While netizens continue to step up demand to ban Love's Ambition, Fan's latest concert has also come under the shadow of Yu Menglong's death.
