Mohanlal Lauds Army Chief's 'Great Gesture' Of Commendation For Dadasaheb Phalke Win, Reveals What They Discussed

Mohanlal has once again garnered praise, this time from the Indian Army Chief, following his recent National Award win. The Thudarum star recently met the Army Chief in Delhi and shared the details of his meeting. The actor also revealed how he feels about receiving the commendation for Dadasaheb Phalke Award.

After a meeting with Army Chief Gen. Upendra Dwivedi in New Delhi, Mohanlal, who holds the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Indian Territorial Army (TA), told ANI, “Receiving commendation from the Army Chief is a tremendous honour and recognition. The Dadasaheb Phalke Award is also a significant reason for this. We had a fruitful meeting, including a small lunch. It was a wonderful gesture from the Army fraternity.”Reflecting on his 16 years of service, Mohanlal added, “We discussed ways to enhance the efficiency of the TA battalion and explored what more we can do for the nation.” The Drishyam actor also expressed enthusiasm about participating in more films centred around the Indian Army.

He also shared a post on X (Formerly known as Twitter), "Today, I had the honour of being called by the Chief of the Army Staff, General Upendra Dwivedi, PVSM, AVSM, to the Army Headquarters, where I was awarded the COAS Commendation Card in the presence of seven Army Commanders. Receiving this recognition as an Honorary Lieutenant Colonel is a moment of immense pride and gratitude. I remain deeply thankful to General Upendra Dwivedi, the entire Indian Army, and my parent unit of the Territorial Army for this honour and their unwavering support. Jai Hind."

Mohanlal honoured by Kerala Government

Recently, Mohanlal was honoured by the Kerala government for his achievements at the ‘Malayalam Vanolam Lalsalam’ event held in Thiruvananthapuram on Saturday. Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan presented him with a citation penned by poet Prabha Varma, recognising his contributions.Sharing moments from the event on his X (formerly Twitter) account, Mohanlal posted photos of the felicitation ceremony where he received the honour from the Chief Minister. “Moments like these fill me with profound gratitude. My heartfelt thanks to the Government of Kerala for their warmth and honour during the felicitation celebrating the Dadasaheb Phalke Award. I am deeply grateful to the Hon’ble Chief Minister, the Ministers, and all esteemed dignitaries who graced the occasion,” he wrote.
