Bihar Election 2025: NDA's Seat Distribution Plan Out; BJP-JDU To Fight On 101 Each, LJP Gets 29

of the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, the NDA alliance has finalised the seat distribution. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Janata Dal (United) have decided to split an equal number of seats this time, contesting on 101 each in the polls. Union Minister Chirag Paswan's Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) has been given 29 seats, while Rashtriya Lok Morcha and Hindustani Awam Morcha have been given 6 seats each. "Leaders and workers of all NDA parties have joyfully welcomed this decision. All comrades have girded their loins and are resolved to form an NDA government in Bihar once again," BJP General Secretary Vinod Tawde said, sharing the announcement on social media platform X.

The seat-sharing formula of the NDA is as follows:

1. BJP – 101 seats
2. JD(U) – 101 seats
3. LJP (Ram Vilas) – 29 seats
4. RLM – 06 seats
5. HAM – 06 seats

A meeting of the Central Election Committee (CEC) is currently underway at the BJP office in Delhi to discuss the poll strategy. Polling for the first round will be held on November 6, while the second and final phase covering 122 seats is scheduled for November 11. Counting of votes will take place on November 14. The filing of nomination papers began on Friday (October 10) for the first phase of the Bihar assembly elections, covering 121 constituencies.Candidates can submit their nominations until October 17, with scrutiny the next day and withdrawals allowed until October 20, according to the Election Commission.Districts voting in the first phase include Patna, Muzaffarpur, Darbhanga, Gopalganj, Saran, Vaishali, Begusarai, Nalanda, and Bhojpur, among others.
